TURKEY&GREECE “Double Delight”

If you are visiting the destinations in the west part of Turkey, you will have opportunities to visit some popular Greek islands as well. We call it as “Double Delight” and strongly recommend such a holiday which you will combine 2 different cultures with traces from thousands year-old civilizations.

Some tourist hubs in the Aegean region of Türkiye have ferry connections to Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. Southwestern destination Marmaris is just an hour away to Rhodes, the fourth largest island of Greece (the capital of Dodecanese islands). Once you are in Marmaris, or nearby, one of the daily (even overnight) excursions should be to Rhodes, an island of medieval age. Another visit could be to Kos island which is 1,5 hour away from the popular summer destination, Bodrum. And, Chios (Scio) island is so close to Çeşme, a summer holiday destination in İzmir province of Turkey. Chios is notable for its exports of mastic gum and its nickname is “the Mastic Island”. Tourist attractions include its medieval villages and the 11th-century monastery of Nea Moni. Lesvos is another big Greek island in the North of the Aegean Sea, reachable by ferry from Ayvalık, the western city of Turkey. It is also called “Island of Poets” and is known as the home of the ancient Greek poet Sappho.

We have the capability of organising trips including Turkish western destinations such as Troy, Pergamon, İzmir, Ephesus&Virgin Mary, Aphrodisias, Pamukkale, Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye and the Greek islands; Rhodes, Kos, Chios, Samos, Lesbos. As a custom made tour operator, we can combine your holiday package as you wish and the trip may vary from one week to two week holidays, which you will spend one week in Turkey and one week in Greece. The ferry links between the Turkey&Greek islands are best in April-October period. And the ferry links between Greek islands make it possible to travel from island to island as well. It’s a great way to visit two entirely different destinations during one holiday and completely worth it!
